The Court Theatre is owned by David Evans MBE and run as a registered charity to promote and support the Arts in all its forms. Benefitting a wide and diverse range of more than 20 community groups from across the region, the theatre is supported by hundreds of volunteers, creating a venue producing events most weeks of the year and encouraging an appreciation of the Arts, both amateur and professional, for the benefit of all.

The David Evans Court Theatre presents events most weeks of the year and provides a wide range and variety of entertainment. There’s something suitable for all ages – from full scale musicals to one person shows, plays to panto and music that covers all tastes from jazz to rock, and much, much more.

The theatre was first established in 1978 and is set in a fine Victorian building dating back exactly 100 years from the date when it it first opened. Now a community theatre, it is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers. For more information see our Volunteers page.

The theatre offers good accessibility throughout as it is essentially “on the flat” and has Blue Badge parking spaces immediately opposite the entrance. On arrival our Courtiers will arrange to get those with mobility issues seated first before the rest of the audience.

There is a mainline station via Euston (35 mins) a few minutes away and we are only 25 minutes from both the M25 (Junction 20) and the M1 (Junctions 9 and 12). The theatre has its own large carpark.

We hope you enjoy your visit here and look forward to welcoming you at The Court soon!
